John Matchette’s skeet career started in the late 1950’s.  Mr. Matchette was a WSSA Director and served on the classification committee at numerous state shoots.  Mr. Matchette was named to FOUR NSSA All American Teams.  He is one of two Wisconsin Shooters to have been named to the NSSA All American Open 1st Team.  In 1964, he was among the NSSA’s high average leaders in HOA and the .410 bore.  Also in 1964, he won three state titles (20 Ga., 28 Ga., and .410 Bore) and was runner-up in HOA by one target.  In 1960, Mr. Matchette and Ed Scherer won the Two Man Team All Bore event at the Wisconsin State Shoot.  In 1957, Mr. Matchette along with Durant, Durant, Ernst, and Schlegel, won the Five Man Team Event at the Wisconsin State Shoot. John Matchette won Seven State Titles and was runner-up nine times in the various gauges and HOA. John Presently Resides in Florida.
